How to Manage Your Subscription

View usage, change plans, and manage billing for your KaiCalls account.

Viewing Your Plan

Navigate to Dashboard > Settings > Subscription to see your current plan details:

  • Your current plan name and price
  • Minutes used this billing cycle
  • Minutes included in your plan
  • Next billing date

On an older plan? Your original pricing, minutes, and terms are grandfathered and don't change.

If You Go Over

No per-minute overage and no surprise bills. Allowances are a generous fair-use cushion; if your call volume consistently grows, we right-size you to the next plan (and back down if it drops) — always with a heads-up first and a one-tap "keep me here" option.

On a legacy plan? Usage beyond your included minutes is billed at $0.25/minute, exactly as before — your terms don't change.

Failed calls and dropped calls (under 5 seconds) are excluded from billing — you are only charged for calls that actually connected.

Tip: If you regularly exceed your plan's minutes, upgrading to the next tier is usually cheaper than paying overage rates.

Upgrading

Click Upgrade on the subscription page and choose the plan you want. Upgrades take effect immediately — you get the higher minute allotment right away.

You are prorated for the remainder of your current billing cycle. You only pay the difference between your current plan and the new one for the days remaining.

Downgrading

Click the plan you want to switch to on the subscription page. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal date — you keep your current plan's minutes until the end of the billing cycle.

Warning: If your current usage exceeds the lower plan's minute allotment, you may incur overage charges after the downgrade takes effect. Check your usage before switching.

Canceling

Click Cancel Subscription on the subscription page. Your account remains active until the end of the current billing period — you do not lose access immediately.

You can reactivate your subscription at any time before the billing period expires. After it expires, your phone number is released and call routing stops.

Payment Methods

Click Manage Billing on the subscription page to open the Stripe customer portal. From there you can:

  • Update your credit card or payment method
  • View past invoices and download receipts
  • Update your billing address

Usage Monitoring

The subscription page shows a usage bar that tracks how many minutes you have used this cycle. Keep an eye on it — if you are consistently using 80% or more of your allotment, consider upgrading before overage charges kick in.

Tips

  • Start with the Starter plan and upgrade as your call volume grows. You can always change plans at any time.
  • KaiCalls uses per-second billing, so short calls cost less. You are not rounded up to the next minute.
  • Check your usage weekly to avoid surprise overage charges at the end of the month.
  • If your card is declined, update your payment method promptly to avoid service interruption.
