How to Use Tool Library

Tool Library is where you connect external MCP providers, review the tools they expose, and control which actions KaiCalls is allowed to use.

What This Screen Is For

Open Dashboard > AI & Automation > Tool Library. Use this screen to add a sandbox provider or a remote MCP server, refresh discovery, inspect health and schema changes, and enable tools for KaiCalls surfaces.

  • Connections: MCP providers attached to the selected business.
  • Discovered tools: Provider tools KaiCalls has found.
  • Need review: Tools that are new, changed, or removed.
  • Pending approvals: Owner-gated write actions waiting for a decision.

Connect, Review, Approve

  1. Click Add Sandbox to test the approval flow safely, or Connect MCP for a real provider.
  2. Enter the provider name, MCP server URL, auth type, and credential reference if needed.
  3. Click Save and Discover so KaiCalls can fetch the provider catalog.
  4. Review each tool's status and risk badge before clicking Enable.
  5. Approve or reject pending write actions from the approvals panel.

Risk and Approval Rules

  • Read: Can run after policy checks.
  • Low: Requires voice confirmation.
  • Medium or high: Queues for owner approval.
  • Blocked: Cannot be enabled until reviewed outside the normal flow.
