Back to Call Forwarding

Number Migration Readiness

A short pre-cutover checklist for moving your business line to KaiCalls without losing texts, old voicemail, or public listings.

SMS During Forwarding

Voice call forwarding does not forward SMS or MMS. If customers, vendors, or appointment systems text your existing line, those messages stay with the old carrier until the number is ported.

If SMS matters, choose porting instead of long-term forwarding.

Retrieve Old Voicemails First

After a port completes, your old carrier voicemail box may become inaccessible. Save anything you need before the carrier cutover date.

1Open your old carrier voicemail box or voicemail app before the port completes.
2Save, download, or forward any messages you need for records or follow-up.
3If your carrier has no export option, play the message on speaker and record it securely.
4Confirm the saved copies are usable before you submit or approve the final port date.

Fax Is Not Supported Yet

KaiCalls does not support fax on the main line yet. If your business receives fax on this number, keep a separate fax solution active, such as a dedicated carrier fax line or hosted fax provider.
